78 percent of applicants to Ohio University-Main Campus were admitted for fall 2018

At Ohio University-Main Campus, 76 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Athens enrolled 28,480 students in fall 2018, including 22,309 in undergraduate and 6,171 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

86 percent of undergraduates are residents of Ohio, and 13 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (82 percent) and Black or African American (6 percent).

The school admitted 78 percent of the 23,385 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
