Cost of college went down for all students at Washington State Community College

In-state tuition and fees fell 2.3 percent for 2018-19 at Washington State Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio residents paid $3,888 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $90 less than the $3,978 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 0.6 percent more than residents this year, or $3,912. Their price tag was reduced 46.5 percent from $7,314 in 2017-18.

About 74 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Ohio residents. And about 26 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 81 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 150 students received grants or scholarships totaling $780,481 and 93 students took out student loans totaling more than $437,131.

Including all undergraduates (1,797), 593 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3 million, and 453 students took out $2.4 million in federal student loans.
