Tax Amnesty Program 2022 June 1st - June 30th
Beginning June 1st residents will begin to notice amnesty posters and flyers displayed around Athens announcing an income tax amnesty program. The Athens City Income Tax Amnesty program is an opportunity for eligible taxpayers to file and pay back income taxes without penalties or interest.This chance to “catch up” with your taxes includes taxes due on returns that have not yet been filed and tax returns previously filed but not paid.
This year our program will run from June 1st to June 30th. Anyone wishing to participate in the amnesty program can do so by bringing their applicable paperwork to an Athens City Amnesty Specialist to have your returns prepared free of charge.
