Noble County Sheriff's Office Active Shooter Alarm from Caldwell Elementary School

At approximately 11:30 am, the Noble County Sheriff’s Office received an active shooter alarm from Caldwell Elementary School. Armed law enforcement personnel arrived on scene within minutes and began securing rooms and clearing the building. Once the building was searched and secured, it was ultimately determined to be a false alarm.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to commend the efforts of the responding officers in arriving and clearing the building of potential threats as quickly as possible. We would also like to recognize the efforts made by the school staff in doing everything they could to protect the school children. All active shooter protocols were followed.

We understand that the alarm and response efforts can be stressful for everyone involved. We would encourage anyone with questions to please contact the Superintendent of Caldwell Exempted Village Schools.
