Senior Teagan Ochaya led the Akron offensive with 11 kills while earning 11.5 points as the Zips volleyball team fell 3-0 to Bowling Green at the Stroh Center on Saturday.
Bowling Green needed extra-points to secure the first set 27-25 and claimed the next two sets by scores of 25-12 and 25-16, respectively.
Sophomore Karleighana Jones generated 8.5 points for the Zips with a second-best seven kills while leading the team in hitting percentage (.312) and blocks (2). Sophomore Genevieve Hara added six kills and one block.
Junior Lauren Latka anchored the Zips defense with 13 digs, while Ochaya followed with 10.
Akron will be back in action at James A. Rhodes Arena for the final homestand of the 2022 campaign, hosting Miami on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11-12. Friday's match is scheduled for 6 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. start for Senior Day on Saturday.
