FOIA Request to Monroe County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SE Ohio Times have submitted a request for public records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq.
The request was sent to Monroe County on October 7, 2024, seeking access to FOIA logs that were sent to the county from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The requested information includes the requester's name and organization, content of the request, date of the request and its completion date as well as the status of the FOIA.
Access to these public records is essential for us at SE Ohio Times in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver.
