Athens City-County Health Department issued the following announcement on January 15.
The Ohio Department of Health reported 514 new cases and 1 new death for Athens County yesterday. This is due to a significant increase in local COVID-19 infections combined with the state reporting cases that have been backlogged due to the high volume from the recent surge.
