Athens Community Center New pool manager to the Athens City Pool staff, Dr. Annie Olcott.

Please welcome our new pool manager to the Athens City Pool staff, Dr. Annie Olcott. 

Annie has been a resident in the Athens area for three years, and is a professor at OHIO University in Recreation, Sport Pedagogy & Consumer Sciences. In addition to her instructional role, she serves as the program coordinator for the Physical Activity & Wellness (PAW) program, serving over 2000 students in all areas of sport, recreation, and wellness. Annie is originally a native of North Carolina, where she received her B.S. in Health & Physical Education at Appalachian State University. She continued her studies at West Virginia University, where she received her M.S. in Physical Education and Ed.D. in Kinesiology. In alignment with her passion for health and wellness, Annie has pursued a career in aquatics management and instruction. She served as a Lifeguard and Head Guard during her years growing up in North Carolina and continued this service in pool manager positions in Blowing Rock, NC and Morgantown, WV. She is certified in Lifeguarding, CPR/First Aid at the base level, in addition to certifications as a Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid Instructor. She is excited to begin the new pool season and enjoy the summer with you all!
