Community Food Initiatives Sprouts Farm Field Trips

134e

We are still giddy with excitement about how amazing our first ever Sprouts Farm Field trips were!  Over 200 first grade students, teachers, and families got to visit Blackberry Sage Farm and Solid Ground Farm where they had sack races, hunted for pollinators, planted flowers, tasted local foods, explored ponds, climbed obstacle courses, dug clay to make native wildflower seed balls, and had SO MUCH FUN!  Much thanks to our partners at Rural Action, Live Healthy Appalachia, COMCorps an AmeriCorps Program and all the volunteers that came out and made these special days possible; and to SARE Youth Educator Grant for helping with funding.  What a perfect way to end a fabulous year of Sprouts School Garden programming!
