City of Athens Water Line Break UPDATE 9/16/2022 10:00 am

At approximately 7:30 am, the City of Athens was notified of a waterline break. After investigation, it was determined to be a break on a 10” line near the Water Treatment Plant on West State Street. This line feeds the Curtis Street Reservoir on the City’s south side.
Once the repair is made, there could be low pressure in the Richland Avenue area. The affected low pressure area includes:
Curtis Street, Mulligan Road, Mohler Lane, and Richland Avenue
If necessary, a boil order notice will be announced and may include a wider area.
With the exception of the streets listed, the rest of the City should not have a disruption in service.
