Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement following the conclusion of the National Transportation Safety Board’s field hearings in East Palestine:

“Over the past two days the NTSB has released over 5,000 pages detailing their investigation into the train derailment that occurred on Feb 3. Ultimately, it's not over for the people of East Palestine until the people of East Palestine say it’s over. However, my hope going forward is that all parties learn from these findings and focus on how we can find bipartisan solutions to improve rail safety and prevent another incident like this from happening here, or anywhere else. To prevent another disaster like the one that occurred in this small Eastern Ohio village, the House should urgently debate and approve my Reducing Accidents in Locomotives (RAIL) Act. The bipartisan RAIL Act would enact effective and responsible changes to the way the rail industry operates to help prevent railway accidents and keep communities across America safe.”
